2017 Kalaripayattu by Spic Macay

Under the umbrella of Spic Macay, a team from Kerela introduced our students to the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu. A rigorous physical discipline, that requires years of hard work and countless hours of practice is still alive in parts of India.

The students witnessed a nail biting performance of hand to hand, sword, knives, flexible swords and other combat techniques. The performers demonstrated their peak physical and mental condition and showcased their agility and flexibility. The audience was mesmerized by this show of precision combat where the hands and feet moved faster than what the eyes could see.

32nd Rev. Bro. C.J.Bergin Memorial Cricket Tournament

32nd Rev. Bro. C.J. Bergin Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament was organized on 25th April – 2nd May 2017.

The Rev. Bro. C.J. Bergin Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament was started in 1984 by Rev. Bro. P. Muldowny and Mr. N.S. Yadav. Due to the untiring efforts of Mr. Yadav, this tournament has been continuing for more than the last 30 years and has become the premier inter-school cricket tournament in North India. Some of the players from this tournament have gone on to represent Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Indian at national and international levels.

This year, 16 teams had participated in the tournament. Army Public School were the winners with St. Mary’s Academy coming as runners up. Sagar Lohan was adjudged as the best batsmen in the tournament.

This year, it was the first time this tournament was held after the death of Mr. N.S. Yadav. His presence and passion was sorely missed.

2017 Republic Day Annual Cricket Match

Keeping in our tradition, Republic Day was celebrated with flying kites, playing cricket and having a great time with family and friends.

This year, ExMA organized the Annual Cricket Match between Ex-Marians and Marians with the generous contribution from the Silver Jubilee batch of ’92. Mr. Vishak. G. IAS, CDO Meerut inaugurated the match.

Both teams put up a spirited competition. The match was won by the well deserving Marians team. Uday Pratap Singh was adjudged as the Man of the Match.

Silver Jubilee Batch of ’92 sponsored the kites and refreshment packets to all the students. The traditional lunch was a tribute to the good old school days and was enjoyed by everyone attending.
